Empowering Lives, One Step at a Time
I'm Debbie Woodall-Carroll, a licensed professional clinical counselor with over 15 years of experience in the field of mental health. My journey into counseling began as a second career, and it's been a rewarding and fulfilling path. As a therapist, I've had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
My Story
My journey into counseling began when I was going through a personal crisis and became a single mom. I decided to pursue a master's degree in counseling at Xavier University, which was a transformative experience. Throughout my career, I've worked in community mental health agencies, universities, and as part of a group practice. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the complexities of human relationships and the importance of empathy and compassion in healing.
My Approach
As a therapist, I'm passionate about helping individuals and couples enhance their lives, relationships, and overall well-being. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change, and my goal is to empower individuals to recognize their strengths, abilities, and control over their lives. Through a safe and supportive environment, I help my clients identify their goals and work collaboratively to develop strategies for achieving them.
Our Services
At Carroll Counseling Services, I offer a range of services designed to support individuals and couples navigating various life transitions and challenges. Some of the services I provide include:
Grief Counseling
Grief is an inevitable part of life, and it's essential to understand that it's not limited to the death of a loved one. I help clients process their emotions, understand their loss, and learn to accept the changes that come with it. Whether it's coping with a minor disappointment or a major life change, my goal is to help individuals and families navigate their grief and find a sense of closure and acceptance.
Couples Counseling
Intimate relationships are complex and require effort to maintain. I work with couples to improve communication, conflict resolution, and empathy. By providing a supportive environment, I help couples develop a deeper understanding of each other, build trust, and strengthen their bond.
Military Counseling
As a therapist with expertise in working with military personnel and their families, I understand the unique challenges and stressors that come with military life. My training in the STAR Behavioral Health Providers and Give an Hour program has prepared me to address the specific needs of military families.
