Our Story
Garry Kornegay founded Kornegay Engineering, Inc. (KEi) in 1993 with the goal of providing quality structural engineering services to architects, contractors, and fabricators. Since our founding over 25 years ago, we have continued to add new team members, grow our portfolio, and develop an extensive range of knowledge allowing us to provide a broad range of structural engineering services.
Our Services
Our services at KEi are diverse and include new construction documents, connection design, site assessments, and more. Our team specializes in structural engineering for a wide variety of industries such as government, industrial, educational, and marine. Some projects include: aircraft hangars, churches, commercial structures, earth-retaining structures, education facilities, emergency centers, hospitals/wellness centers, multi-family dwellings, nuclear power plants, and wastewater & water treatment.

Our experienced team of engineers is flexible and diverse, with licenses in multiple states including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. We are also registered with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), and this membership allows us an expedited registration for projects in nearly every state. We continue to implement the latest technology, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, to develop efficient designs. This gives us the ability to explore construction options and coordinate with other disciplines to avoid interferences during construction.
