Empowering Children and Families to Succeed

At the Chinatown Community Children's Center (CCCC), we are dedicated to providing high-quality early education and social services to new immigrant and bilingual/bicultural families in San Francisco. Founded in 1972, our non-profit organization has been committed to empowering children and their families to lead fulfilling lives and achieve their full potential.

Our History and Mission

Our organization has a rich history that dates back to the Asian-American civil rights movement in California. Our founders mobilized campaigns to make public services available to both Chinatown and the Asian-American community at large. Our first Executive Director, Dr. Lucinda Lee Katz, was one of the plaintiffs in the landmark 1974 U.S. Supreme Court case Lau v. Nichols that legalized bilingual and English-as-a-Second-Language education in our nation's public schools. Our mission is to provide quality early education and social services to meet the needs of our families, helping them integrate into American society and gain economic stability while maintaining their cultural identity.

Our Services

We provide care for 84 children, ages 2 to 5 years, with over 80% of our children from families that are below the standard income level. In a nurturing learning environment, our children receive nutritious meals, health screenings, and early identification of special needs. We also provide much-needed social services to the families of our students, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives. Our programs are designed to promote kindergarten readiness, cognitive development, and social skills, preparing our children for success in school and beyond.

Our Team

Our team is led by Executive Director Anne Kwong, who brings over 20 years of experience in early childhood education. Our staff includes experienced teachers, consultants, and administrators who are dedicated to providing high-quality education and social services to our families. We believe in creating a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters growth, learning, and development.

Get Involved

We invite you to learn more about our programs and services, and to get involved in our mission to empower children and families in San Francisco. Whether you're a prospective parent, a volunteer, or a donor, we welcome your support and enthusiasm. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our children and families.
