Emphasizing the Building of Self-Esteem
At A T.L.C. Preschool & Extended Care, Inc., we believe that good self-esteem is the key to successful living. Our goal is to help your child develop a positive self-image, and we achieve this through our carefully structured programs and nurturing environment. Our preschool programs, Jr. Kindergarten, K-5 Extended Care, and Summer Camp 2024 are designed to encourage children to take responsibility for themselves, follow directions, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Our History
A T.L.C. Preschool & Extended Care, Inc. was founded in 1978 by Georgia Tyson, with the help of her daughter, Jayne Tyson Davilla. Today, Paula Walkup serves as the school's president and director. We are extremely proud of our teachers and staff, who have been with us for many years, and many of whom are former students or parents of students who have attended our programs.
Our Values and Teaching Philosophy
Our main goal is to help your child develop a positive self-image. We believe that good self-esteem is the key to successful living, and we encourage our students to follow directions, take responsibility for themselves, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Our coordinated, planned program is designed to develop the child's interest in learning at an early age, and includes activities such as story time, finger games, nature and science study, arts and crafts, singing, and self-esteem building exercises.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs, including Preschool Programs for 3 and 4-year-olds, Jr. Kindergarten for children with late summer/fall birthdays, and Extended Care for children in Grades K-5. Our programs are designed to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages children to learn and grow.

Our Facilities
Our preschool and kindergarten programs are held at our Cambrianna site, a former elementary school with spacious classrooms, 2 playgrounds, a large grass area, and a courtyard area. Our Extended Care program is provided at our Bagby School site, which has a triple-wide portable building that children find comfortable and welcoming.
