Our Methodology
The Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood. Our teachers provide individualized instruction based on observation and understanding of each child's learning style and ability. We encourage development of the whole child through experiences that cultivate independent thinking, creative problem solving, self-awareness, empathy for others, and environmental awareness.

Our History
Willow Creek Montessori (aka Montessori of Willowcreek) was originally owned and founded by Kid Ed Inc. as a non-denominational school in 1977 with the opening of the first school by the Widmer family, in a remodeled home on Fort Union Boulevard in Cottonwood Heights. At that time, their school was only the third Montessori school in Utah. Demand for their education program grew resulting in construction of the Willow Creek Montessori school, on an acre site at 7839 S.Highland Dr. This site was built and designed for young children with Montessori schooling in mind.
