The Latino Healthcare Forum is a community-based organization dedicated to promoting health equity and access to healthcare for underserved populations. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, culturally competent, and quality primary healthcare services to vulnerable populations. We strive to organize and sustain a powerful consumer voice to ensure that all individuals and communities can influence healthcare decisions.
Our Services
Our services are designed to address the unique needs of the Hispanic and Latino communities in Central Texas. These services include:
PromoSalud: Our core competency is PromoSalud, a program that trains community members to become community health workers or "promotores de salud". These trained community health workers work closely with healthcare providers to educate communities about healthy lifestyles, screen for chronic diseases, and provide outreach and enrollment services.
Rundberg Health Innovation Program: This initiative brings together community members from the Rundberg neighborhood to increase behavior change and access to information and health services.
Center for Healthy Communities: Our Center for Healthy Communities serves as the delivery vehicle for research on public policies and other special initiatives in the Austin area.
Manantial de Salud: Manantial de Salud is dedicated to promoting well-being in the North Central community of Austin, TX, through improving health and lifestyles, and creating positive environments.
Sirviendo Mejor a Nuestros Ninos: This program works closely with the community to provide healthy lifestyles and create positive environments for children.
Latino Healthcare Forum Calendario Comunitario: This initiative provides community members access to events and resources, focusing on the Hispanic and Spanish-speaking community.

Our vision is a nation free of disparities in health and healthcare. Our goals include:
1. Supporting a positive transformation of the healthcare system and building a high-value healthcare system that requires insuring the uninsured, making coverage more secure for those who have it, and improving the quality of care for all.
2. Helping to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure and workforce by addressing the critical shortage of medical personnel, including community health workers.
3. Advancing the health, safety, and well-being for vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations.
