Transforming Health, One Patient at a Time

Welcome to North Berkeley Acupuncture

At North Berkeley Acupuncture, we are dedicated to providing top-notch acupuncture and bodywork services to help our patients achieve optimal health and wellness. Our experienced practitioner, Dale Fanning, LAc, has extensive training in classical Chinese medicine, sports medicine, and modern acupuncture techniques. We believe that each patient is unique and deserves a personalized approach to treatment.

Our Philosophy

Each patient is a unique story and set of circumstances. Some cases are straightforward and can be addressed solely on the musculoskeletal level. Other times, there are deeper causes that go beyond ergonomics and activities. Two patients with the same diagnosis will often require two very different treatment plans. It is imperative, in order to be effective in this work, to stay away from flow-chart diagnosis and cookie-cutter treatments. You have to be present, regard each patient as their own set of parameters, address their complaints at the source, and adapt to their responses in real-time.

Our Services

We offer a range of services, including acupuncture, bodywork, and Chinese herbal medicine. Our treatments are designed to address a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal and neurological disorders, emotional and psychological disorders, and pain management. We also provide specialized treatments for sports injuries, occupational injuries, and post-surgical recovery.

Acupuncture

Our acupuncture services are tailored to each patient's unique needs and conditions. We use a blend of classical Chinese acupuncture methods, modern sports medicine techniques, and electro-acupuncture to address specific musculoskeletal or neuromuscular issues.

Bodywork

Our bodywork services include traditional Asian modalities like Cupping, Gua Sha, Tiu-na, and Shiatsu, as well as Western techniques like PNF stretches, deep tissue, and sports massage. We carefully consider the patient's stage of injury and other factors, then apply the appropriate techniques to facilitate blood and lymph circulation, reduce hypertonicity, increase range of motion, break up adhesions, and stimulate regeneration of healthy tissue.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Our Chinese herbal medicine services offer safe, natural, and effective medicine that goes beyond symptomatic relief and nurtures health on a deeper level. We tailor custom formulas specific to each patient's needs and conditions.
