Our History
Our story began in the 1920s when Edwin C. Koontz built the funeral home at its present location in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh. The facility was unique, being one of the first built as a funeral home, with apartments for the owner's family and others. Edwin C. "Pete" Koontz, Jr. followed his father into the funeral profession, and in 1954, he hired Thaddeus T. "Ted" Boron, who ran the funeral home until he purchased it in 1968. Today, we continue to uphold the values of compassion, respect, and dignity that have guided our family-owned funeral home for generations.
