Effica School of Montessori, a preschool and kindergarten located in Centerville, Ohio, is dedicated to nurturing young hearts and minds. Our name is derived from the term "self-efficacy, " which embodies our mission to foster a sense of capability and independence in every task that children accomplish. Program History
Established in 1988, Effica School of Montessori has been providing quality preschool and kindergarten education to the children of Dayton for over three decades. Founded by Asha Mahambrey with a Master's Degree in Montessori Education, our school has served hundreds of families, offering a nurturing and educational environment that fosters growth and development. We are proud to be one of the few Montessori schools in the Dayton area with the original Director and Teacher, ensuring consistency and authenticity from our roots.

Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is rooted in the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori, one of Italy's first female physicians who dedicated her life to the study of children's development. Through scientific observation, she discovered the unique learning abilities of young children and developed a new approach to education. Based on her theories, the Montessori Method emphasizes hands-on learning, independence, and a respect for the individual child's development.
At Effica School of Montessori, we believe that children learn best through exploration and discovery. Our classrooms are designed to encourage this type of learning, with various areas dedicated to practical life, sensorial, language, math, science, geography, art, music, and motor development. Children progress through these areas at their own pace, developing concentration, coordination, order, and independence. Basic concepts are initially introduced in a simple and concrete form, then later explored in more complex and abstract ways.
Program Offerings
Our preschool and kindergarten program runs from Monday to Friday, from 9am-12pm. We offer open enrollment year-round, and our three-year academic program serves children ages 2 1/2 - 6 years old. The first two years typically serve as preschool, preparing young children with the foundation needed to interact with other children, teachers, and learning materials in a school environment. The third year serves as kindergarten, in which children refine skills and concepts, and begin to work with more advanced materials.
