Where Children Learn to Grow
At Stanley Preschool, we strive to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages children to explore, learn, and grow. Our school is built on a strong foundation of child-centered learning, fostering a sense of community, and promoting the development of the whole child.
Our Approach
Our preschool program is designed to nurture all five facets of development: cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language, and creative. We believe in a play-based approach that is developmentally age-appropriate, encouraging children to explore, experiment, and discover through hands-on activities. Our curriculum is designed to meet the unique needs of each child, with special experiences throughout the year to learn via hands-on discovery.
Our School Day
A typical day at Stanley Preschool is filled with a variety of activities that promote learning and exploration. Children have the opportunity to engage in:
- Daily outside play (weather permitting)
- Music and movement activities
- Cooking experiences
- Field trips
- Special Events
We also prioritize building a strong school community where children, parents, and teachers come together to build bonds outside of the classroom. This is achieved through a range of special events throughout the year, such as the Stanley Fun Run, Special Person Night, Ice Cream Social, and Pony Day.
Parent Involvement
We believe that parents play a vital role in their child's education and value their involvement in our school. Parents are always welcome to visit the classroom, share a hobby or family tradition, lead a craft, bring in a special birthday snack, chaperone a field trip, or attend a class party. There are many ways to get involved in our school community, including volunteering in the classroom or participating in special events.
Leadership
Our dedicated leadership team is committed to providing a high-quality education and nurturing environment for our children. Our director, Sharon Piskadlo, has extensive experience in education and leadership, with a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. Our registrar/office manager, Suzanne David, is dedicated to providing excellent support to our families.
