A subluxation is a term used to describe the altered position of a vertebra and the subsequent functional loss that results. These are the areas that require adjustment. A subluxation may cause slight blood loss and/or decreased nerve conduction to areas of the body "downstream" from the affected area. Therefore, adjustments of these areas are crucial to promote proper body function.

Treatment and Care

Most treatments will eventually lead to a reduction or recovery of symptoms over the course of just a few visits, and that is our goal. After a treatment schedule is over, many patients may choose to return in order to maintain that proper, healthy feeling. Just as we have our oil changed regularly, our teeth cleaned once or twice a year, and a regular physical exam, routine chiropractic check-ups can keep you feeling healthier for longer. It is not required to continue care to prevent injury, but sometimes it just makes sense to stay in the best shape we can.
