Welcome to Jennie Harless Photography! We are a portrait photography studio based in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California. Our photographer, Jennie Harless, specializes in family, high school senior, and school photography, and serves clients in Placer, Sacramento, and Nevada counties.

Jennie is an on-location, natural light photographer who has been capturing memories for families and individuals for many years. She first discovered her passion for photography at the age of nine, when she received her first pocket camera. Since then, she has developed her skills and style to create stunning, authentic, and unique images that her clients love to display in their homes and share with their loved ones.

As a former elementary school teacher and a mother of two, Jennie has a special connection with children and families. She knows how to make photo sessions fun and enjoyable for everyone, especially young children who may feel nervous or uncomfortable in front of the camera. With her gentle guidance, prompts, jokes, and props, she creates moments of connection, silliness, excitement, and surprise, which result in magical photographs that capture the true essence of her clients.

We work closely with our clients to understand their preferences, vision, and style, and to create a customized photo session that meets their needs and exceeds their expectations.

Our Services

We offer a range of photography services, including:

• Gold Package | $325: This package includes a 1-hour photo session for up to 6 people (with an additional fee for extra adults). You will receive 35 fully-edited, high-resolution images with a print release, which you can use to print and share your photos as you wish.
• Rose Package | $275: This package includes a 45-minute photo session for up to 4 people (with an additional fee for extra adults). You will receive 20 fully-edited, high-resolution images with a print release.
• Senior Portraits | $300: This package includes an outdoor photo session for up to 1.5 hours, with up to 4 outfits (typically casual, dressy, cap and gown, and college shirt). You will receive 25 fully-edited, high-resolution images with a print release.

• What should we wear? Choosing outfits for your photo session can be both exciting and overwhelming. We recommend selecting clothing that is comfortable, flattering, and coordinated, but not too matchy-matchy. If you need help or feedback on your outfit choices, please send us a picture, and we will be happy to provide our input.
• Where will my session take place? Location is everything when it comes to photography. If you have a specific location in mind, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. If not, we can suggest some beautiful and unique locations in the Sierra Nevada foothills, depending on your preferences and style. Many of our clients like to have their photos taken on their property, which adds a personal and sentimental touch to their images.
• What time of day is best? The best time of day for photography depends on the location, the lighting, and the client's schedule. Generally, we like to shoot in the afternoon/evening, one hour before sunset, because the lighting is soft, warm, and dreamy. However, we are open to scheduling early morning sessions if that works better for you and your family. We will work with you to find the best time and location for your photo session.
• What happens if it rains? Weather can be unpredictable, but we do our best to adapt to any situation. If it rains on the day of your photo session, we will reschedule it for another date that works for both of us. If you prefer to proceed with the session despite the rain, we can provide you with some creative and fun ideas for indoor or undercover photo shoots.
