Who We Are

Maid in the Shade began doing business in Houston, Texas in 1988 with a mop, broom, and a big bucket of determination by Co-founders, Noel Paden and Lin Fuller. With a desire to make more out of their lives, Noel and Lin set out with $500 and the basic supplies (including Noel's mom's borrowed vacuum) and Maid in the Shade was born! The early years were lean and challenging, but pride, youth, and perseverance prevailed.

Noel and Lin worked hard to create something special and enduring. Cleaning home after home, slowly their hard work began to pay off. More and more clients came on board as Noel and Lin impressed them with their attention to detail, reliability, and strong work ethic. Maid in the Shade saw growth each year and soon began employ cleaning staff that took the load off Noel and Lin to let them concentrate on running what had become a real business.

Today Maid in the Shade employs over 30+ caring cleaning associates and an amazing office staff of 3. Now performing over 10,000 home-cleanings annually, with the detail to attention and reliability they built their business on. Maid in the Shade aims to fulfill your expectations of superior home cleaning and customer care. Our Staff

Maid in the Shade is led by Co-founders Lin Fuller and Noel Paden. Lin is a native Houstonian and co-founded Maid in the Shade at the tender age of 20. She enjoys the people pleasing aspect of the cleaning business and is a bit of a neat-freak, so a better career match would prove difficult. When she's not working, you can undoubtedly find her pursuing her passion for CrossFit, riding her bike, shopping for organic foods, or reading another book on fitness and nutrition. Lin lives with her dog, Walnut, a spunky and handsome 2-year-old Chihuahua. She has been an Oak Forest resident for over 15 years and recently moved to Timbergrove. Lin is an avid supporter of many charitable causes including the Houston Food Bank, Houston SPCA, Pink Ribbons project among others.

Noel Paden is a native Texan with a big heart and a bold sense of humor. Meet her and in 5 minutes she'll have you laughing or probably pondering something you'd never thought of otherwise. On the other hand, she is also a serious business woman who started and runs two successful businesses. In 1988, Noel formed Maid in the Shade Cleaning Services with her business partner Lin Fuller. Following the success of Maid in the Shade, Noel opened Clean This, a retail store selling cleaning supplies and auto detailing supplies. Noel runs her businesses and her life with focus and integrity. She is a wise entrepreneur that has never lost sight of the needs of her employees, her clients, and her friends. Noel is actively involved in the community with outreach through Cleaning for a Reason, Santa Maria Hostel, Mercy Street Mobile, and is an engaged member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church. Noel has a quick mind ever seeking the best path, a sense of wonder and humor that will keep you on your toes, and compassion that sets her above the typical business owner. Noel's passions include art, music, and social get-togethers with friends.
