Our History
Born in 1872, Julia Morgan, our visionary architect, designed over 700 buildings in California, including the Berkeley City Club. Her legacy continues to inspire us today. Born in San Francisco, Julia Morgan went on to attend UC Berkeley, where she graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. She later enrolled in the prestigious Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, becoming the first woman to be admitted. Julia Morgan's remarkable career spanned over 50 years, leaving an enduring mark on California's architectural landscape.
