Welcome to TruCare Family Practice, a healthcare facility dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized care to individuals and families in Lumberton, North Carolina. Our goal is to provide timely and respectful medical services to our patients, and we believe in working together with our patients to maintain and improve their health.

Our practice is staffed by experienced physicians who are certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. We offer comprehensive health care services in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and we believe in educating our patients as we work with them to achieve the best physical state possible. Our board-certified nurse practitioners always consult with the attending physician prior to working with each patient, ensuring informed and consistent care at all times.

Our staff includes Dr. Charlene Locklear, a Lumberton native who earned a bachelor's degree in biology/chemistry with a biomedical concentration from UNC Pembroke in 2004. She earned a medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in 2008 and completed residency training in family medicine at McLeod Family Medicine in Florence, S.C. in 2011. Dr. Locklear is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has special interests in women's health and minor procedures.

Our Services

At TruCare Family Practice, we offer a variety of services to meet the diverse needs of our patients. Our services include primary care, well-woman examinations, annual physicals, sports and camp physicals, full laboratory testing, adult and pediatric immunizations, preventive health care, pre-operative clearance, and aesthetic treatments such as cellulite treatments, laser hair removal, and body sculpting.

We also offer same-day appointment availability for our patients, ensuring that they receive the care they need when they need it. Additionally, we accept most public and private insurance plans and offer special pricing for cash-paying patients for most procedures.

New Patients

We welcome new patients to our practice and encourage them to complete the medical records release form so that we may obtain their medical records. Once we receive the necessary information, we will call to schedule an appointment. We look forward to providing personalized care to new patients and helping them achieve optimal health.

Updates & Clinic News

We are constantly striving to improve our services and provide the best possible care for our patients. We now offer parent-child summer heat and water safety awareness classes, as well as a family planning program for those becoming parents for the first time.
