At Paul Poirier + Associates Architects, we're a commercial and residential firm based in Santa Barbara on the beautiful California Central Coast. We've been in operation since 1993, combining the talents of our principal architect with a dedicated staff who are all experts in the latest computer drafting and 3D modeling technology. Our commitment is to deliver innovative architectural design and the highest quality technical detailing to our clients.

We're passionate about implementing sustainable design concepts and using green building products in our projects. This commitment has earned us recognition for both sustainable design and aesthetic contributions to the community from organizations like Goleta Beautiful, Obispo Beautiful, and Santa Barbara Beautiful. Two of our residential projects were awarded the prestigious Greenbuilder magazine Home of the Year awards in 2008 and 2013. Furthermore, numerous projects by Poirier + Associates have been featured in the TSP Parade of Green Buildings and the Habitat for Humanity Tour of Green Homes in the Santa Barbara area.

Our team is led by Paul Poirier, a registered architect in California, Nevada, and Alabama, and a USGBC LEED AP. With over three decades of experience working on the Central Coast, Paul is a respected figure in the architectural community. He currently serves as the chair of the American Institute of Architects California Council Committee on the Environment, and he's a member of the US Green Building Council National Chapter Steering Committee. Paul has also held leadership roles in the Santa Barbara chapter of the AIA, the USGBC Central Coast Chapter, and the AIACC.

Paul is a founding board member of the Sustainability Project and the Green Building Alliance, two active Santa Barbara-based environmental organizations. He has contributed to the TSP Green Building Guidelines project for the County of Santa Barbara and has been a guest speaker at numerous conferences and seminars on sustainable design and green building. Paul received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, graduating with cum laude honors. His studies abroad in Fontainebleau, France, and subsequent travels provided an opportunity to absorb the urban and architectural culture of Europe.
