From humble beginnings, Tate Landscaping Services, Inc. has grown to employ over fifty individuals, each bringing a unique set of skills and expertise to the table. Our team, comprised of landscape designers, installation managers, maintenance experts, site graders, water feature specialists, and turf and pesticide management professionals, work in concert to deliver exceptional results for every client.

Our Team: Experts Committed to Excellence

At the helm of Tate Landscaping Services, Inc. is Owner/Operator James P. Tate (Jimmy), a North Carolina Registered Landscape Contractor and graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Landscape Architecture. Jimmy's journey began with the family nursery business, Tate's Nursery, where he cultivated a deep understanding of local plants and cultivated a passion for landscaping. In 2002, he embarked on his own venture, establishing Tate Landscaping Services, Inc. Driven by the desire to share his knowledge and vision, Jimmy has fostered a culture of excellence within the company, earning recognition and trust throughout the Highlands-Cashiers area.

Beyond his professional contributions, Jimmy is actively involved in the community, serving as a member of the Highlands Rotary and Chairman of the Macon County Board of County Commissioners.

Paul Corbin, our steadfast Maintenance Manager, brings decades of experience and a deep commitment to the success of Tate Landscaping Services, Inc. A lifelong resident of Macon County and a graduate of Western Carolina University, Paul has been with the company since 2003, witnessing and contributing to its growth over the past two decades. Community service is paramount in Paul's life, exemplified by his dedication as fire chief on the plateau for many years.

Matt Mason, our Landscape & Sales Manager, joined Tate's in 2016 and quickly became a valuable asset to the team. A graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Landscape Architecture, Matt is also a familiar face in the Highlands-Cashiers community and previously served as Macon County's Soil & Water Conservation manager. His extensive knowledge of soil and water conservation practices complements Tate's commitment to environmental responsibility.

David Crisp, our Horticulture & Training Manager, is a graduate of NC State University with a degree in Turf Science and over 15 years of experience in the realm of turf and ornamental care. David joined the team in 2016 and has rapidly established himself as one of the leading horticulturists in Western North Carolina. He holds the prestigious North Carolina Certified Turfgrass professional designation and is an active member of the North Carolina Turfgrass Council.

Codie Couch, our Account & Sales Manager, brings a wealth of experience from both commercial and residential landscape management to Tate's.

A graduate of Georgia College and having served clientele in the Highlands are with his own successful landscape operation for several years, Codie joined the Tate's team in 2017 and has proven to be a valuable asset to our company. His understanding of the unique needs of our diverse customer base has made him a valuable resource.

Sammie Leffler, our dedicated Office Manager, has been an integral part of Tate Landscaping Services, Inc. since 2010, ensuring the smooth operation of our day-to-day activities. Sammie's meticulous attention to detail and expertise in managing financial records have been instrumental in supporting the company's growth and navigating periods of change. Through her diligent work, she has cemented her role as the backbone of our operations.
