Educating Tomorrow's Leaders Today - Where Nurturing Meets Education

At Rocking Horse Academy, we believe that educating tomorrow's leaders today is not just a goal, but a responsibility. As an accredited school, we are dedicated to instilling old-fashioned values in our students, while incorporating today's educational research. We understand that children are our most precious treasures, and it is our commitment to nurture, educate, and ensure their safety above all else.

Our state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide a safe and exciting learning environment for children of all ages. From our infant care program to our tutoring services for school-aged children, we offer a comprehensive range of educational programs that cater to the diverse needs of our students. Our staff comprises of teachers with degrees or childcare certification, ensuring that our students receive the best possible education.

Our Educational Programs

Our educational programs are designed to stimulate the minds of our students, regardless of their age. For our infant students, we provide a safe and nurturing environment that encourages growth and development. Our toddler program is carefully designed to cater to their newfound mobility and insatiable curiosity, providing a secure environment filled with age-appropriate toys and equipment for hands-on learning.

For our preschool students, we offer a theme/literature-based curriculum that prepares them for elementary school. This curriculum is developed based on researched knowledge of child development and assessment of individual needs and interests. We also use the state TEKS as an ultimate goal for developing our curriculum. Recognizing that each child learns differently, our teachers use a variety of methods to teach reading, including both phonetics and whole language, and other areas of academia.

Extracurricular Activities

At Rocking Horse Academy, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. That is why we offer a range of extracurricular activities designed to enrich our students' learning experience. Our extracurricular program includes gymnastics and dance classes, as well as Stretch 'n Grow for our older students. We also invite guest speakers from the community to help teach our students about important topics such as fire safety and stranger danger.

In addition, we organize various events throughout the year to engage our students and foster a sense of community. During the winter holidays, we celebrate International Children's Day with our own international festival, featuring food, flags, music, and games from around the world. Our older students also have the opportunity to participate in field trips to exciting destinations such as museums, exotic animal parks, pumpkin patches, and more.

Our Staff

At Rocking Horse Academy, we understand the importance of hiring qualified and dedicated staff members. To be a lead teacher at our school, you should have your Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) as a minimum standard. However, we also hire lead teachers based on their extensive experience and training rather than formal education. Teachers with Associates degrees, Bachelors degrees, or Masters degrees are preferred. Many of our Assistant teachers and teacher's aides also have certifications or degrees and/or are working on Bachelor's degrees at our local universities. They also have experience working with children. We strive to have at least one bilingual teacher in every classroom to cater to our diverse student body.
