Howard E. Mills' son, Howard O. Mills Sr., took the reins of the company and steered its expansion into the industrial and marine sectors. Their Marine Division played a significant role in servicing commercial and naval vessels at the Bellingham Shipyards during the 1940s. Further broadening its expertise, Mills Electric collaborated with Uniflite Boat Builders, contributing to the construction of both pleasure and naval vessels in Bellingham.

As the company continued to flourish under Howard O. Mills Sr., his son, Howard O. Mills Jr., assumed leadership. Under his guidance, Mills Electric expanded its reach throughout the Northwest and beyond, undertaking projects in Washington, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, California, and even Russia.
