Linda Beach Cooperative Preschool

Linda Beach Cooperative Preschool has been providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children since 1941. Our preschool is located in the heart of Piedmont, California, and we are proud to be a small, play-based, cooperative school that values the individuality and creativity of every child.

At Linda Beach Cooperative Preschool, we believe that children learn best through play and interaction with their environment. We provide a gently structured day that encourages children to explore, discover, and express themselves while developing important social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Our teachers work closely with parents to create a warm and caring community that supports each child's unique needs and learning style.

Our Teachers

Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced early childhood educators who are passionate about creating a positive and engaging learning environment for young children. Now Enrolling

Linda Beach Cooperative Preschool is currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year! We offer two programs: a Tues/Thurs class for 3-4 year olds and a Mon/Weds/Fri class for 4 year olds. Both programs run from 9am - 12noon and have a maximum of 20 students. To learn more about our programs and enrollment, please attend our open house on Saturday, May 4th, from 10am-12pm.

Our Programs

Our programs are designed to meet the developmental needs of young children while providing a supportive and engaging learning community. The daily schedule includes a balance of free choice activities, teacher-directed activities, and group time. Children also participate in various enrichment activities, such as Spanish, music, motor development, and field trips.

Our Tues/Thurs program is for 3-4 year olds who are developing important social, emotional, and cognitive skills. The class has a maximum of 20 students, with 2 teachers and 3 parent volunteers. Children must be 2 years and 6 months by September 1st to be eligible for this program.

Our Mon/Weds/Fri program is for 4 year olds who are preparing for kindergarten. The class has a maximum of 20 students, with 2 teachers and 2 parent volunteers. Children must be 3 years and 6 months by September 1st to be eligible for this program.

Classroom Participation

At Linda Beach Cooperative Preschool, parents/guardians are actively involved in the classroom, volunteering approximately every 3-5 weeks depending on the size of the class. Reduced classroom participation is available for families for whom a regular participation schedule would be difficult to maintain. This allows families to be involved in their child's education while also balancing their other responsibilities.

Community Involvement

Linda Beach Cooperative Preschool is more than just a school; it is a community of families committed to supporting each other and the school. Families commit to one or two volunteer jobs during the course of the school year and participate in one school cleaning day per year, attend parent meetings, and support the Spring Fundraising Gala.

Tuition

Tuition is paid in 10 monthly installments during the months of September-June. For 2023-2024, the Tues/Thurs class tuition is $340 per month, and for the Mon/Weds/Fri class is $440 per month. Limited tuition assistance is available based on financial need.
