At Norwood Chiropractic, we are dedicated to providing the best, individualized care for our patients. Our goal is twofold: to relieve you of your pain and to help restore normal function to your spine. As a natural form of health care, we do not prescribe drugs or perform surgery. Chiropractic has been a tremendous benefit to millions of Americans for over one hundred years and continues to help more people every day.
Our chiropractor, Dr. Kim Johnston, has been practicing for over 25 years and has been practicing in Norwood since 1993. She is a Doctor of Chiropractic and a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist. Dr. Johnston combines the use of chiropractic adjustments, myofascial therapies along with ancillary procedures; ultrasound, muscle stimulation, etc., to achieve the best result possible for her patients.
Dr. Johnston believes strongly in the concept of patient education. To this end, we provide tips and literature on the many ways for patients to avoid and prevent future problems as well as "how to" ways to manage all spinal issues. She is an active member of several organizations in her community and belongs to a number of professional organizations. Her favorite pursuits in her spare time include gardening and reading.
Our Services
We offer a variety of services at Norwood Chiropractic, including:
- Chiropractic Care: Our chiropractic adjustments are designed to restore proper function to your spine and relieve pain. We use several techniques, including low force methods, to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible.
- Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy: This therapy is used to treat pain and stiffness in the muscles and connective tissue. It can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including headaches, neck pain, and lower back pain.
- Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS): EMS is a pain-free treatment that uses electrical currents to stimulate the muscles. It can help to reduce pain and inflammation, improve range of motion, and promote healing.
- Ultrasound Therapy: Ultrasound therapy uses high-frequency sound waves to promote healing and reduce pain and inflammation. It is often used to treat injuries and conditions affecting the muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
First Visit
Your first visit will last approximately one hour. After written intake information is collected, a thorough consultation and health history will be conducted. A chiropractic examination will then be performed, which may include orthopedic, neurological, and chiropractic tests. After the examination, the findings will be explained and a plan of action will be discussed. This may include a report of findings and a treatment plan. If chiropractic care is indicated, treatment will be initiated on the first visit. We offer an initial consultation at no charge. You will receive a brief examination and consultation. At the end of the exam, we will tell you if we believe chiropractic will help you. There is no charge and no obligation.
