At Hinds Energy, we believe in bringing energy to life. We are a third and fourth-generation family business, dedicated to serving the residents of Susquehanna and Wyoming counties, as well as parts of the Southern Tier of New York. Our journey began in 1944, when Eldred J. Hinds founded Hinds Oil Co. Inc. Today, we are one of the largest employers in Montrose, with over 50 dedicated employees working tirelessly to ensure your comfort and satisfaction.

Our History

Our roots date back to the Revolutionary War, when members of the Hinds family were the first settlers in Northeast Pennsylvania. They arrived in the area in 1789. Eldred J. Hinds started Hinds Oil Co. Inc. in September of 1944. The business began as a two-person operation, with Eldred and his wife Carol working together. Over time, they expanded their team, hiring their sons Allyn and Duane, and eventually their grandsons, Mike, Steve, and Jim, who are now running the company.
