Our History

Brooks Design/Build, Inc. was founded in 1974 in Spokane, Washington by Gilbert Brooks. Driven by his passion for quality craftsmanship and exceptional design, Mr. Brooks built a reputable portfolio specializing in cabinetry, staircases, and high-end finish work. Twenty years later, in 1996, the company name transitioned to the capable hands of his grandson, Brian Hanlen. Brian, established Brooks Construction in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, continuing the legacy of meticulous work and fine design.

A growing demand for comprehensive residential design and project management services fueled a natural evolution within the company. In 2003, Brooks Construction successfully reorganized as Brooks Design/Build, Inc. This transformation marked a significant milestone, cementing the firm's commitment to providing integrated architectural design solutions tailored to the unique needs of the Colorado mountain region.
