River City Dentistry is a reputable dental practice that has been serving the Richmond, VA community for many years. Our practice is a result of the merging of two esteemed dental clinics, namely those of Dr. Frank Richardson (established 1961) and Dr. Thomas S. Cooke III (established 1972). These practitioners were known for their compassion and gentleness, which changed the way people experienced dentistry.
In 1999, Drs. Doug Overstreet and Susan Richardson-Overstreet, both graduates of the VCU School of Dentistry in 1992, founded River City Dentistry. They aimed to continue the legacy of their predecessors by providing individualized dental care that prioritizes the needs of each patient. As a people-driven practice, we understand that every person is unique, and so are their dental experiences. Our goal is to treat the person behind the smile while promoting good oral and physical health through personalized dental care.

*Dr. Susan Richardson-Overstreet, D.D.S*
Dr. Susan Richardson-Overstreet is a proud Richmond native. She attended Randolph Macon College and completed her B.S. degree in Dental Hygiene at VCU in 1987. In 1992, she received her D.D.S degree from VCU, graduating with honors. Dr. Richardson Overstreet taught, part-time, at the VCU school of Dentistry for five years. She is a member of the Virginia Dental association, the Richmond Dental Society, and the Spear Study Club. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, fitness, and anything to do with her Chocolate Lab, Kodi.
*Dr. Douglas R. Overstreet, Jr., D.D.S*
Dr. Douglas R. Overstreet, Jr. attended Virginia Tech and graduated with honors from MCV in 1992. He is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, The Richmond Dental Society, The Virginia Dental Association, and The Implant Forum Study Club. He also participates in the Mission of Mercy projects and Donated Dental Services. Dr. Overstreet enjoys traveling, dining, and spending time with his family during his free time.
