Our Team

At Southwood Veterinary Clinic, we are proud to have a team of highly skilled and dedicated veterinarians and staff. Our team includes:

• Dr. Greg Carlson: Dr. Carlson has been practicing in the Jamestown area since 1995 and is co-owner of Southwood Veterinary Clinic. He is a mixed animal practitioner and the primary equine veterinarian at our clinic. Dr. Carlson takes great pride in continuing the tradition of quality service and veterinary care that has been a hallmark of Southwood Veterinary Clinic for over 50 years.
• Dr. Debra Trnovec: Dr. Trnovec has been practicing in Jamestown since 1995 and is co-owner of Southwood Veterinary Clinic and Southwood Veterinary Service in Carrington. She is primarily a small animal practitioner and has a special interest in working with birds, exotic and "pocket" pets. Dr. Trnovec also manages the clinics and staff.
• Dr. Melissa Schlecht: Dr. Schlecht is a small animal practitioner who joined our team in 2016. She enjoys dentistry on felines and canines and has a special interest in small animal medicine.
• Krystal, LVT: Krystal is a licensed veterinary technician who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. She is competent in the lab, surgical nursing, monitoring anesthesia, and assisting with large animals in the clinic or field.
• Madelyn, LVT: Madelyn is a licensed veterinary technician who started working at Southwood Veterinary Clinic in 2009. She is a born horsewoman who is equally comfortable working with small animals, large animals, and in the surgery suite.
• Rachel, LVT: Rachel is a part-time licensed veterinary technician who joined our staff in 2015. She has certifications in dog training and canine behavior and has a special interest in equine and large animal medicine.

• Macee, CVA: Macee is a certified veterinary assistant who started working at Southwood Veterinary Clinic in 2017. She is dedicated to providing the best possible care for our patients and is passionate about animal health and welfare.
• Kim: Kim is our receptionist at Southwood and the person behind the voice on the phone. She is knowledgeable, efficient, and has a great sense of humor. She has a big heart and will always go the extra mile to help Southwood patients feel safe and comfortable.
