Our Mission

For over 60 years, Brevard Heart Foundation has been a beacon of support, empowering healthcare professionals in Brevard County. Guided by the vision of a healthy community, we strive to:

• Empower healthcare students: Through merit-based scholarships, we support aspiring nurses, medical professionals, and Physician Assistants in achieving their educational goals.
• Strengthen local healthcare: By partnering with local organizations, we support initiatives that address identified healthcare needs in our community.

Our Journey

Founded in 1957 by renowned cardiologist, Dr. Jack T. Bechtel, the Foundation began as a loan fund to support cardiac care in a community grappling with limited access to healthcare. Over the decades, we have evolved into a leading force in fostering quality healthcare through scholarships and community initiatives.

Our Impact

Thanks to the generosity of donors and dedicated volunteers, Brevard Heart Foundation has:

• Provided over $740,000 in scholarships to deserving nursing and medical students.
• Partnered with organizations to support various local healthcare initiatives.
