At Local 11 Union of Roofers, Waterproofers, and Allied Workers, we are dedicated to promoting the rights of skilled craftsmen and women in the roofing and waterproofing industry. Through our commitment to education, training, and organizing, we strive to improve the lives of our members and their families.
Our organization is at the forefront of design and installation of environmental-friendly garden roofs and green roofing systems. We understand the importance of sustainability and green building practices, and we aim to promote these values throughout our work.
Our Services
Local 11 Union offers a wide range of services to our members, including apprenticeship training, union meetings, charity work, and more. We believe in the power of education and training, and we provide our members with the highest quality training available in the roofing industry. This not only benefits our members but also enhances the overall quality of work in the industry.
We also offer educational scholarships to the children of our members, ensuring that they have access to quality education and opportunities for success. Additionally, we provide healthcare, retirement, and short-term disability benefits to our members, giving them peace of mind and financial security.
Union Meetings and Affiliation
Our union meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month at 6PM at the Union Office/Hall in Oak Brook, Illinois. These meetings are an essential part of our organization, as they provide a platform for our members to participate, discuss important issues, and make decisions that impact our community.
We are proud to announce our affiliation with the Roofer's International Union and the United Association. This partnership will help create a stronger presence for the Roofer's and Waterproofers Union in the future, ultimately benefiting our members and the industry as a whole.
Charity Work
At Local 11 Union, we believe in giving back to our community. We are involved with the Chicago Roofers Charity, which serves the needs of innocent children fighting pediatric cancer and veterans who have defended our nation. We understand the importance of supporting those in need and are committed to making a positive impact in our community.
Training Center
If you're interested in a career in roofing, we encourage you to check out our training center. The Chicago Roofers Joint Apprenticeship & Training Program is located at 7045 Joliet Road, Indian Head Park, Illinois. You can contact them at (708)246-4488 or fax (708)246-5908. We also have a South Central Wisconsin Roofing & Waterproofing Training Center, with an office phone number of 608-580-0268 and address at 222 Sunnyside Dr., Milton, WI 53563.
Right to Work
At Local 11 Union, we believe that the "Right to Work" laws are detrimental to workers' rights and well-being. These laws drive down wages for all workers, including non-union members, women, and people of color. They also lead to a lower rate of employer-sponsored health insurance and a higher rate of workplace deaths. We are committed to promoting fair labor practices and protecting the rights of all workers in our industry.
