Our historic, two-story facility, built in 1890, offers a unique and intimate setting for a wide range of performances, including concerts, plays, musicals, dinner theater, children's theater, and other events.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide opportunities for the rural north Florida area to participate in and be inspired by quality performing arts programming. We strive to educate and empower the culturally underserved and economically challenged people in our region through transformative plays and presentations. Our programs aim to bring to light our shared history, increase self-and community-awareness, promote cross-cultural understanding, develop multiple skills and self-confidence, and inspire participants to reach for a better life and a better world.
Our Values
At the Monticello Opera House, we value diversity, ethics, inspiration, and excellence in all aspects of our work. We seek to achieve diversity in every aspect of our programs, performances, artists, and community, including accessibility and inclusion for all. We maintain consistent and transparent actions in all our programs, taking steps to be fair and balanced in our decisions. We continuously improve how we accomplish our work, embracing change and seeking excellence in all our endeavors.
Our Objectives
Our objectives include restoring and preserving the historic Monticello Opera House, maintaining continual operation of a regional center for the performing arts, promoting cultural and artistic educational programming in schools, and operating the Monticello Opera House as a multipurpose inclusive community center for use by all in the general public.
Our Services
We offer a variety of services, including year-round entertainment, weddings, parties, conferences, and other community events. Our facilities include the large Perkins Banquet Hall on the ground floor, the 311-seat Historic Theater on the second floor, and the picturesque Garden Courtyard area.
