Our History

The Hotel Bentley was constructed in 1907 by Joseph Bentley, a native of Pennsylvania who became wealthy in the lumber industry in Central Louisiana. Our hotel has a long history of serving as a hub for notable figures, including Dwight Eisenhower, George S. Patton, Omar Bradley, and Henry Kissinger, who resided at the hotel during World War II. Over the years, we have undergone several renovations and restorations, including a multi-million dollar restoration in 2012, which converted the seven-story tower portion of the property into private residential units.
