History of The Smile Shop

The Smile Shop was founded in 1980 by Dr. Michael Stoker, who was later joined by Dr. Richard Adams in 1990. Today, the practice is led by Dr. Nicole Stoker, Dr. Melissa McCool, and Dr. Whitney Garol. All our pediatric dentists have received postdoctoral residency training to become certified in pediatric dentistry.

We offer a range of services, including early dental exams, preventive oral hygiene instruction, restorative dentistry, emergency treatment, and sedation services. Early Dental Exams

We recommend that children see a pediatric dentist by their first birthday. This early exam allows us to carefully examine the development of your child's mouth and prevent dental problems. Our pediatric dentists are skilled in discussing all options before any procedures, ensuring you are well-informed and comfortable with the treatment plan.

Preventive Oral Hygiene Instruction

We strive to provide a fun, educational environment where children learn about the importance of good oral hygiene. Our team teaches proper brushing, flossing, and eating habits, as well as ideal fluoride levels and the use of pit and fissure sealants.

Restorative Dentistry

If your child requires fillings or crowns, we are here to help. Our restorative services include treatment of nursing bottle decay and other dental issues. We always prioritize your child's health and well-being, ensuring the best possible outcomes.

Emergency Treatment

While we aim to prevent dental emergencies, we understand that urgent care is sometimes necessary. Our team is equipped to handle dental emergencies promptly and with compassion, ensuring your child receives the best care possible.

Sedation Services

For small procedures, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to help your child relax during treatment. In cases where extensive dental work is required, we may recommend treating your child in the operating room under general anesthesia.

Our Baker Lane Location, Northwest Reno Location, and Sparks Location are designed to be inviting, comforting, and fun-filled environments for your child.
