At Sam Smead Photocreative, we have been dedicated to capturing the beauty of people, places, and things in and around East Texas for over three decades. Our journey began in 1990 when our founder, Sam Smead, started photographing families, children, and seniors. Over the years, we have expanded our services to include commercial photography, aerial photography, professional images, architectural images, weddings, maternity sessions, and various projects that are presented to us.
As a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the Texas Professional Photographers Association, we have received numerous awards and have been recognized for our hard work and quality. Our commitment to excellence and dedication to delivering exceptional results have earned us the prestigious title of "Best in East Texas" in 2017 and the "Locals Love Us" award every year since 2011. In 2011, we were honored with the Entrepreneur of the Year award by the Chamber of Commerce.
Our Team
Our team is led by our founder, Sam Smead, who has a degree in Architecture and has been photographing for over 30 years. He is joined by his wife, Jill Smead, who serves as the studio manager, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our studio. Lisa Ferguson has been with us for over 15 years and is responsible for art direction, production management, master retouching, and second shooting. Mona is our lovable studio mascot and loves to follow Sam on his adventures.
Aerial Photography Services
At Sam Smead Photocreative, we are proud to offer aerial photography services utilizing our state-of-the-art DJI Mavic 3 Cine, which can capture ProRes video and 24-megapixel still images. With our FAA Part 107 licensed commercial drone operator and a $1 million insurance policy that can be increased, project-dependent, we deliver exceptional results with an elevated perspective.
