Our History

Founded in 1925 by Dr. Stratton, our clinic has a rich history of providing quality medical care to the pets of Spokane. Over the years, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of our community, while maintaining our commitment to delivering exceptional care and service. In 1993, a devastating fire destroyed our clinic, but we persevered, relocating to a temporary facility and later rebuilding to become the premier veterinary hospital in the area.

Our Doctors

Our team of experienced veterinarians is dedicated to providing personalized care and attention to each patient. Our doctors have unique areas of interest and work together to provide well-rounded veterinary care for your pet. From dogs and cats to exotics, our staff strives to provide gold-standard medicine, treating your pet with the same care as one of their own.

Dr. Matt Schmidt

Dr. Schmidt, one of our founders, is a graduate of Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing veterinary medicine for over two decades. He is also an adjunct professor at Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine, teaching senior veterinary students. In his free time, Dr. Schmidt enjoys hiking, horseback riding, and skiing.

Dr. Luther McConnell

Dr. McConnell has been serving the Spokane community for over 30 years, with a focus on equine and bovine medicine. He is a graduate of the Autonoma University Veterinary Medicine in Juarez, Mexico, and has worked in various veterinary capacities throughout his career. Dr. McConnell is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hiking, and fishing.

Dr. Gentemann

Dr. Gentemann is a 1998 graduate of Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He is an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hiking, biking, and rock climbing with his family. Dr. Gentemann is also an avid fly fisherman, whenever possible, he's out on a river with a fly rod in hand.

Dr. Sara Roginski

Dr. Roginski is a 2018 graduate of Midwestern College of Veterinary Medicine. She is passionate about the Pacific Northwest and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, camping, hiking, and cycling. Dr. Roginski has a cat and a Golden Retriever, who goes everywhere with her.

Dr. Chrisha Harris

Dr. Harris, a native of North Spokane, graduated from Eastern Washington University and Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a passion for urgent care and emergency medicine and works part-time at Animal Emergency Clinic. In her free time, Dr. Harris enjoys time by the water, dancing, watching or playing sports, and hiking.

Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians, including Jandi Entwistle (Lead) and Annie Tate (Assistant Office Manager), play a vital role in our team, providing compassionate care and administrative support.
