Our History

In 1987, a group of local businessmen recognized the need for more options in funeral service for the people of Alamogordo. They renovated a building that had been a church and later a school, transforming it into a funeral home. Thus, Alamogordo Funeral Home was born. In 1995, Clark Sears, a longtime Funeral Director from Idaho, purchased the funeral home and changed its name to Sear's Alamogordo Funeral Home. In 2005, after over fifty years of funeral service, Clark and Norma Jean Sears retired, selling the funeral home to R. Kent and Lisa Durrett House, longtime Alamogordo residents who had already established the local crematory, PCS.
