Sheboygan Theatre

Founded in 1934, Sheboygan Theatre Company (STC) is a longstanding community theatre serving Sheboygan and beyond. Our dedicated volunteers produce high-quality theatrical productions, blending local talent with national professionals to offer diverse and engaging programming for all. We are proud to be a non-profit organization operating within the Sheboygan Area School District Community Recreation Department. Our commitment to quality has never diminished over the years, and we continue to strive for artistic excellence, inclusivity, and community engagement.

Our History

Originally known as Community Players, STC was founded in 1934 when talented citizens from nearly 30 separate theatre groups combined to provide quality entertainment on the shore of Lake Michigan. Over the years, we have experienced many changes, but our core values of creativity, imagination, passion, respect, and inclusivity have remained constant. Today, we produce at least four Main Stage shows each year in the Leslie W. Johnson Theatre on the Horace Mann Middle School campus and also produce smaller productions through our "black box" theatrical group, Studio Players.

Respect for each other is infused into all aspects of the collaborative theatre experience, and we strengthen a sense of community for an ever-growing family of participants. Ultimately, we spark passion and ignite creativity and imagination to unleash self-expression.
