The story of Tallen Builders began in 1982 with a young man named Steve Allen, a suitcase, a toolbox, and $500. With a strong work ethic instilled in him from a young age, Steve chose to leave his hometown in New England and build a new life for himself in Ocala, Florida. He was committed to excellence and was ready to lay the foundations of his career in carpentry. Little did he know, this decision would set the course for his future as a businessman and community leader in Central Florida.

Steve's childhood as a paperboy taught him the importance of money management, accountability, and integrity. These values have stayed with him throughout his career and are reflected in the way he runs his business today. After completing a hands-on vocational technical education in Massachusetts, Steve moved to Florida to pursue his dream of building a successful construction company. He faced many obstacles along the way, but he never shied away from a challenge. In 2005, Steve partnered with Terry Talbot to form Tallen Builders, and the company has been thriving ever since.
