Red Flags and Unnecessary Repairs
Many customers have reported feeling taken advantage of by Dave's Pro Auto Service. Erinn Morrison, a young woman, had a terrible experience when she went to the shop for a state inspection. Despite her extensive knowledge of cars, the mechanics there tried to sell her unnecessary repairs, including a transmission and engine mount job that would have cost $700. The shop refused to provide a breakdown of the cost of parts and labor, and the invoice showed that they had installed two transmission mounts, despite claiming that it was necessary for state inspection.
Danielle Bordeau's son had his SUV towed to Dave's Pro Auto Service, where he was quoted over $6,000 in repairs. However, a trusted friend referred him to another mechanic, who found that most of the work was unnecessary. The list of false claims included alleged issues with brake pads, rear shocks, transmission flush, and fuel shield.
