Our History

Nick Spangler, the founder of Spangler Construction, grew up in Washington, D.C. His parents took him to Chincoteague for a weekend trip when he was just six years old, and from that moment, Chincoteague became a special place for him. Nick spent the summer working in a restaurant at the foot of the old drawbridge, and after high school, he moved to Chincoteague permanently. He worked in construction, started subcontracting on the side, and eventually began his own business. Today, Spangler Construction is led by Nick's son-in-law, Pat Luckenbach, who is a partner in the business.
