Our Team

Our team of physicians and staff are dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services.

• Philip Mubarak, M.D.: Dr. Mubarak founded Carolina Pediatrics in 1986 and serves as our medical director. He received his M.D. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Florida School of Medicine/Shands Hospital. His special interests include asthma, allergies, ADHD, and healthy lifestyles.
• Nazia Aslam Jones, M.D.: Dr. Jones is a graduate of the USC School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, NC and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Her special interests include working with children with cerebral palsy and other neurodevelopment disorders.
• Ramkumar Jayagopalan, M.D.: Dr. Kumar is a board certified pediatrician. He completed his pediatric residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. His medical interests include obesity management and prevention, ADD/ADHD, trauma informed care, and childhood development.

We also have a team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and medical assistants who are committed to providing compassionate and high-quality care to our patients.

Visiting Us

Our offices are located in downtown Columbia and Irmo, SC. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at our downtown location only. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.
