UA Local 404

United Association Local Union 404 is proud to be the leading organization for pipefitters, welders, plumbers, and HVAC-R service technicians in the region. With a rich history dating back over a hundred years, our Local has evolved from the combination of three former UA Locals - 196, 389, and 629. These pioneering members were renowned for their exceptional service to their members and their ability to provide highly trained and skilled tradesmen and tradeswomen to their signatory contractors.

Today, our journeymen and apprentices work on a diverse range of projects across various sectors, including energy, heavy industrial, commercial, medical, institutional, and residential. From the pipelines that carry vital crude oil to refineries that process the crude, to manufacturing and industrial plants, hospitals, schools, office buildings, apartments, and homes, the members of Local 404 are hard at work. Their dedication to their craft is evident in the rigorous training they undergo through our registered apprenticeship program, which prepares them to become experts in their specific trades.

As journeymen, they continue to enhance their skillset by taking upgrade courses, ensuring they remain at the forefront of their field. Our primary objective is to provide our members with employment opportunities on jobs that prioritize safety, where guidelines are strictly adhered to by both contractors and construction workers. Through a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), we ensure our members receive fair wages, excellent health insurance, and great retirement benefits for their hard work.
