Our Story

At Atlantis Montessori Academy, we believe that every child is unique, possessing a natural curiosity and eagerness to learn. It is our mission to cultivate this innate potential in a nurturing and inspiring environment where each child can thrive. Founded by Serena Harrison, Atlantis Montessori Academy is a family-owned and operated non-profit school driven by a deep passion for making high-quality Montessori education accessible to all families. With a Board of Directors comprised of former Montessori parents and educators, we bring a wealth of experience and dedication to our school community.

Why Montessori?

Our approach to education goes beyond traditional methods. At the heart of the Montessori philosophy lies the belief that children learn best through hands-on experiences and self-directed exploration. We foster independence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills by providing a carefully prepared environment with age-appropriate materials that encourage curiosity and discovery. In a Montessori classroom, children are not passive recipients of information but active participants in their own learning journey. Programs and Services

We proudly serve children ages 3 to 6.5 years old, offering both full-day and half-day programs. Our dedicated team of AMI-certified teachers understands the importance of fostering a strong foundation for early childhood development. Our curriculum is based on the internationally recognized Montessori methods, ensuring that every aspect of our program is designed to support the individual needs and learning styles of each child. We are also proud to accept children through the Early Learning Coalition's VPK (Florida's Voluntary Prekindergarten Program).
