T.J. Phelan & Associates, LLC was founded in 1991 by Tim Phelan with the mission to help individuals and businesses prepare their tax returns and make the most of their money. With over 30 years of experience in the field, T.J. Phelan & Associates, LLC specializes in preparing tax returns with the greatest deductions allowable by law. Our team operates out of our homes, in your neighborhood, which allows us to keep our overhead costs low and provide our clients with high-quality tax services at half the cost of other tax preparers.

Tim Phelan, the founder of T.J. Phelan & Associates, LLC, holds a Bachelors in Finance from IIT and a Masters in Finance from Loyola University of Chicago. He is a licensed CPA and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. Tim works closely with his wife Julie and their two associates, Alec Phelan and Luke Phelan, to provide our clients with personalized and professional tax services.

• Tax Preparation: We provide tax services for individuals and small businesses, with our fees based on the complexity of the return. Our goal is to minimize our clients' tax liability and keep more of their hard-earned money where it belongs - in their pocket.
• Business Tax Returns: Our fees for business tax returns are based on the time required to complete the return. We provide tax services for sole proprietors, S Corps, C Corps, and LLCs, and our fees start at $250 for these returns.
• Business Process Outsourcing: Many small businesses do not need full-time, experienced accounting personnel but do need varying levels of their service. We help businesses that need anywhere from a few days of help per quarter to several days per month. This allows small business owners a significant amount of flexibility.
• Business Acquisitions & Sales: Buying or selling a business can be a challenge. We have over 20 years of lending & valuation expertise to help you sort through all the aspects and factors of buying or selling a business.
• Accounting & Bookkeeping: We provide a range of accounting and bookkeeping services, including compilations, bookkeeping & write-up services, personal financial statements, financial projections and forecasts, and financial system set-up and implementation. We believe in the combination of financial expertise and the utilization of technology to efficiently provide accounting and bookkeeping services to our clients.
