Meet Dr. George S. Mayweather
Dr. George S. Mayweather is the son of George Mayweather, a retired Aircraft Mechanic who served for 24 years in the United States Air Force. After completing his high school education in Rancho Cordova, Dr. Mayweather went on to attend the University of California, Davis, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology in 1984. He then attended Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington DC, where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1989. After taking a short break, Dr. Mayweather began his postgraduate Orthodontic Residency in June of 1989 and obtained his Proficiency Certificate in orthodontics in May of 1991.
In 1992, Dr. Mayweather returned to the Sacramento area to obtain his California Dental License and began practicing orthodontics in December of the same year in the South Sacramento area. He opened the doors of his private practice in Elk Grove in August of 1996. Dr. Mayweather was the first Black American Orthodontist in the Sacramento region and has been a pioneer in the field of orthodontics in the area.
