First Baptist Church Early Childhood Development

First Baptist Preschool is a Christian preschool located in Charlottesville, VA, serving children aged 2 1/2 to 5 years old, including Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten. We are a ministry of First Baptist Church and are dedicated to partnering with parents in training their children. Our hours of operation are from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for our preschool program, with drop-off beginning at 8:40 am. Our Kindergarten program operates from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. We are open from September through May.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is to share the love of Christ through a Biblically based education that builds foundations for literacy, numbers, spiritual growth, the arts, and critical thinking. We promote positive attitudes that relate to future school success. Our desire is to create a Christ-centered, loving environment for young children that is engaging and full of exciting activities.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is WEE Learn, a Christian curriculum that is unit-based. Daily Bible stories, prayer, music, and art activities are an integral part of each day in the classroom. Our Kindergarten follows all Virginia Standards of Learning objectives with a Biblical perspective.

Ages Served

We serve children from the ages of 2 1/2 through 5 years old. Our Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that prepares children for elementary school.
