Our Story

Every evening at Buon Appetito is a celebration of family, food, and the warm embrace of Italian hospitality. It all began with a dream shared by Chef Vito and Jeanette, a dream to recreate the authentic flavors of Vito's Sicilian childhood, right here in their hometown of Romeo, Michigan. Inspired by his "Nonna Cangemi's" legendary recipes, Chef Vito's passion for cooking bloomed under her watchful eye. Armed with his grandma's wooden spoon and a heart full of love for Italian cuisine, he embarked on a culinary journey that would bring joy to countless tables.

The journey started modestly with a pizzeria, but it quickly became apparent that customers yearned for more than just pizza. They craved the richness of tradition, the honesty of fresh ingredients, and the comforting aroma of Nonna's beloved sauces simmering on the stove. True to their calling, Vito and Jeanette embraced change, transforming their pizzeria into a restaurant dedicated to serving authentic Sicilian cuisine. Buon Appetito, meaning "good appetite" in Italian, was born.
