Empowering the Community through the Performing Arts

Nestled in the heart of Albany, New York, The Linda stands as a vibrant hub for artistic expression and community gatherings. Established in 2002, this multi-purpose auditorium and recording studio offers a diverse array of programming, fostering a welcoming space for music, film, workshops, debates, and other performances.

A Legacy of Community Involvement

Born out of a visionary idea to enhance WAMC's radio broadcasts, The Linda serves as a testament to the station's unwavering commitment to the community. Led by former WAMC President, CEO, and founder Alan Chartock, the project transformed a dilapidated bank into a vibrant cultural center. Through a collaborative effort involving public and private support, donated labor, and materials, The Linda emerged as a beacon of artistic expression in the Capital Region.
