Our Story

Matthew Grove and Lisa Dall'Olio, the founders of Grove & Dall'Olio Architects, PLLC, met in 1989 while working in a small architecture office in New York City that specialized in historic preservation. They were married in 1992, and soon after, Matthew established Grove Architecture in New York, NY. The couple moved to West Virginia, and Lisa joined the practice in 1994. The firm was renamed Grove & Dall'Olio Architects PLLC (GDA) the following year. Since then, GDA has built a reputation for design excellence in the quad-state region, working on a wide array of project types. In 2016, the firm relocated its offices to downtown historic Winchester, Virginia.
