Empowering Families, Educating Children, Strengthening the Community
At Woodside, we believe that children learn and grow best in a nurturing and interactive environment. Our early childhood educational programs and kindergarten classes are designed to respect children's learning through interaction with other children, adults, and the environment. We also provide a support system that empowers families to meet the needs of their children.
Preschool Programs
Our preschool programs emphasize learning as an interactive process through exploration and interaction. We offer a variety of programs to cater to different age groups and developmental needs. Our preschool programs focus on providing a wide range of developmental interests and abilities that meet individual needs. We have three preschool groups, each tailored to meet the unique needs of 3- and 4-year-olds, 4- and 5-year-olds, and children who have just missed the cutoff date for kindergarten.
Kindergarten Programs
Our kindergarten program is designed to provide opportunities for small, interactive, group learning. We focus on process-oriented, concrete activities, and hands-on experiences that foster positive identities and a sense of well-being. Our kindergarten curriculum includes literacy, mathematics, handwriting/penmanship, work habits, and social/emotional development.
Programs and Services
At Woodside, we offer a range of programs and services designed to support the overall development of young children. Our programs are built on developmentally appropriate practices as described by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and draw from current literature, research, and models such as Reggio Emilia and Highscope.
Our Teachers
Our teachers are dedicated professionals with a passion for early childhood education. They hold degrees in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, and Early Intervention, and are certified by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC). Our teachers have a deep understanding of child development and are committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for young children.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a warm, welcoming, and interactive environment for young children to learn and grow. We believe that children learn best through play and exploration, and our programs are designed to support and encourage this type of learning.
Our History
Woodside School and Community Resource Center was founded in 2001 by a group of dedicated educators and community leaders. Our founders recognized the need for a nursery school that would provide a nurturing and interactive environment for young children, and we have been proud to serve the Plymouth community for over 20 years.
Our Values
At Woodside, we value the importance of community and collaboration. We believe that families are an integral part of the learning process, and we encourage family involvement and participation in our programs. We also believe in the importance of respecting and celebrating diversity, and we strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all families and children.
