Our Story

Lauren Coburn, the principal designer and owner of Lauren Coburn Architectural Interior Designer, has a passion for design that dates back to her childhood. Growing up with an artist for a mom and a racecar driver/ophthalmologist for a dad, Lauren has always been drawn to creativity and innovative thinking. She attended Cranbrook Academy and graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a degree in interior architecture. After being formally trained by Chicago's renowned Tigerman McCurry Architects, Lauren opened her own design firm in 2004.

Our Awards and Accolades

We are proud to have received numerous awards and accolades for our work. In 2020, we were honored as a 2020-21 Design Recipient for the USA & Americas Region by the International Property Awards for two of our Illinois projects, the Casa Blanco and Glen Ellyn Residences.
