Communication and Response Issues
Many reviewers have expressed disappointment with the communication and response from the staff at Sheltering Oaks. Mary Beth Peterson and Amanda Gracia both had negative experiences with the lack of response and follow-up after inquiring about counseling services. Mary Beth paid 100% out of pocket and was told that the "planned transfer" to another therapist was not accepting new patients. Amanda called to begin counseling after giving birth, but was told there were no current openings and never received a call back.
Therapy Services
On the other hand, some reviewers have had positive experiences with the therapy services provided at Sheltering Oaks. Tyler Main's son went through testing and received a thorough report and next steps from the doctor. Jamie Rocco's daughter was scheduled with an intern instead of a licensed therapist, but they were offered support in connecting with the right therapist. Lee Ann Carr praised Ben Hatcher, a sensitive and caring counselor, while Erin Swartz recommended Dr. Squires for her professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate approach. Theresa Hewitt also recommended Ben Hatcher for his help in identifying and addressing family issues. Erica DuPont praised Dr. Becky and her team for their stellar counseling services.
Office Issues
Several reviewers have commented on issues with the office, including Melissa Mangen's concern about the lack of answer to phone calls and David Robinson's difficulty in scheduling an appointment. Melissa had to fill out a contact form and was never contacted back, while David was told he would be called back but never was.
Licensing and Qualifications
April Mohnshine praised Dr. Becky for her high level of training, experience, and professionalism. The other reviewers who mentioned specific therapists, such as Ben Hatcher and Dr. Squires, did so in a positive light, highlighting their expertise and caring nature.
