Welcome to North Meadow Family Child Care, a licensed in-home family child care located in Lindstrom, Minnesota. We have been serving the Chisago Lakes area since 2004. Our primary goal is to provide the children with the best quality care possible. We understand that choosing the right child care for your child can be a challenging task, and we are committed to making this process easier for you.

Our setting is designed to provide opportunities for learning and having fun, along with a comfortable loving environment that a small home child care can offer. Our goal is to offer a home away from home for your child.

Meet Julie Tschida

Hi, I'm Julie Tschida, the founder of North Meadow Family Child Care. I grew up in the Chisago Lakes area and I am the youngest of 3. My love for children started at an early age, as a teenager I babysat for several families. After high school, I completed a Child Development Associates Degree and then worked as a Preschool Teacher for 3 years at Genevieve's Day Care Center. Later, I went on to college and graduated from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing Communications. In 1998, I married a wonderful man, named Tony, and we started a family. I started my licensed home child care in 2004. I wanted to be home with my children and provide child care for other families in a small group setting. I am dedicated to guiding and teaching these wonderful little children. In my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking, reading, bike riding, travel, and spending time with my family.

Our Services

All children thrive on structure in their lives, but flexibility is a necessity when working with children! We will try to follow the schedule below, but we will adapt the schedule as needed to accommodate children's needs, weather, field trips, etc.

Our services include:

Infants (Age: 6 weeks to 1 year): Infants determine their own schedule for feeding, naps, and playtime. Infant needs are interpreted through their cries, physical look, and moods. Interaction with infants is on a continual basis to ensure they receive sensory stimulation. Activities include on-floor time for fine motor development, sensory activities, gross motor development, language development, music activities, and outside activities.

Toddlers (Age 1): Toddlers learn by play and exploring, so plenty is offered. Toddlers are free to sit in on the preschool activities, observe, or to free play nearby. The interaction with toddlers is important and so is their development. Activities include gross motor activities, fine motor activities, language development, music, dramatic play, and free play (both inside and outside).

Preschool (Age 2 to Kindergarten): During a child's preschool years, vocabulary, coordination, intellectual thinking and social skills are developed. Activities include circle time, art, science, sensory, gross motor, fine motor, language development, and music activities.

We are dedicated to providing a loving, stable, and secure environment that supports each child's development. Every effort will be made to help every child reach the following goals: Develop a positive self-image and attitude towards themselves and others, stimulate and increase knowledge, develop independence, and have learning experiences that provide intellectual growth and development.
